The Problem Of Possible Redemption” – a video shot with Harrell Fletcher at the Parkville Senior Center – was shown at the Whitney Biennial in New York City.  Gabriela had her first solo show, called “Familia,” at Red Dot Gallery in East Hartford, Connecticut, in March 2004.  In 2005 she exhibited at the Housatonic Museum Of Art  in Bridgeport, Connecticut, and at the Hans Weiss New Space Gallery at Manchester Community College in the “Five-and-Dime” group exhibition.  In the same year Gabriela was commissioned to paint four mural-style oil paintings for the foyer of the recently-opened DesignSourceCT, a major component of the emerging design district in Hartford.  In 2006 Gabriela has continued her project to show art of established and emerging artists in alternative spaces by directing the Sodo Art Gallery in downtown Hartford, and organizing “art@bluecarpet,” a group exhibition, in March, with Hirokazu Fukawa.  This was followed by co-curating and co-organizing “no.mad,” a group exhibition of 13 emerging Hartford artists.  Additional Hartford exhibitions that year included “51%,” a group exhibition at the Charter Oak Cultural Center, “Interwoven II,” at the ArtSpace Gallery, and “Ofrendas,” a group exhibition at the Hartford Public Library.   In 2007 Gabriela has shown at the John Slade Ely House in New Haven, took part in “Interwoven III” at the Art Space Gallery,participated in “English Spoken Here” at City Light Gallery in Bridgeport and, with Fukawa, organized, curated, and exhibited at “no.mad II,” featuring 22 artists working in the area. In 2008 , Gabriela was commissioned to paint for the restaurant  Barca at the Design Center in Hartford. Gabriela maintains a studio in Parkville, Hartford, Connecticut. 

Since 2004 Gabriela has been heavily involved in the Parkville community, working with the neighborhood business association and various neighborhood groups, including the Parkville Senior Center and the Neighborhood Revitalization Zone (NRZ) Committee.  In 2007 Gabriela was named Executive Director of the Parkville Business Association.  Gabriela has always been active in community activities, having served as President of the Hispanic Culture Club as well as on the board of the Alumni Association after graduation.  Since 2006 she is serving on the Board of Directors of the Hartford Preservation Alliance and is President of the Board of Directors of Real Art Ways, also in Hartford.
